Sanctuary at Crowfield Farm is a not-for-profit education center offering workshops, internships, retreats, and activities that honor and nurture self, community, and the earth. Sanctuary is located on land in Arcadia, New York that is home to native wildlife, woods, ponds, wetlands, and is blessed to have as neighbors a winding creek, a herd of American bison, and a community supported vegetable farm. Sanctuary is a welcoming and safe place to find inspiration and challenges with others, wealth in solitude, and joy in the moment.

Introduction to Bees and Beekeeping with Charlie Johnson
Saturday, May 16, 10-12 p.m.
Learn about the only creature on earth that leaves the world a better place just by being here. Learn about the life of a bee, their social structure, our dependence on bees, what dangers they face, how to provide them shelter, how they create nature’s gold and finally learn that 80% percent of America’s honey comes from China. Now that’s scary. Its time we look backward to our roots of self sufficiency and learn from our ancestors and nature to find balance in how we humans borrow the use of mother earth. Bees do no harm, create the only way for many plants to reproduce and in the process create a bounty of sweet golden liquid delight. We humans can only aspire to live like bees.
Cost: $10
