SECOND ANNUAL BENEFIT FOR SANCTUARY: DRUMMING FOR PEACE
September 24 – 25, 2011
Join us for a 24 hour “drumathon” to honor peace on earth and support Sanctuary. Drumming starts midday on Saturday and continues without interruption to midday on Sunday. Individual drummers will sign up for specific times. No drummer is required to drum for the entire 24 hours. A continuously burning campfire will be the centerpiece around which the drumming occurs. Camping is available on site starting Friday after 6 pm. Meals will be provided to all participants as community family style meals. Food contributions or potluck items are encouraged and will be greatly appreciated. Menus will be developed to easily accept this community spirit of food preparation and sharing. All participants (drummers and supporters) must register upon arrival to Sanctuary and receive their wrist bands.
PARTICIPATION LEVELS
Individual: We suggest that those who want to feel the magic of drumming should collect monetary pledges of support from friends, family and colleagues. These pledges are a positive way to engage and remind others of the concept of peace and to provide monetary support for Sanctuary at Crowfield Farm. All levels of pledges are welcome, however partaking of the meals provided by drummers and supporters does require a minimum of a $50 dollar donation.
Group: We want other not-for-profit groups to be able to share in this event. We have developed the Co-Sponsor Group category where 40% of the collected pledges are retained by the co-sponsor group. Participating co-sponsor groups must provide legal proof of non-profit status by submitting 501(c)(3) documentation at the time of registration.
